Burner Comments
Mitigtations Total unit acreage is 150 spread between the Yosemite Valley unit and Crane Flat unit. Units will be burned daily to reduce the amount of smoke impacts to the area. If smoke mitigations are unsuccessful and smoke is settling in the valley impacting smoke sensitive areas and or the surrounding communities, the burn boss will determine if current and predicted weather conditions will remain favorable and continue to meet prescription parameters. If smoke impacts are expected to last for a prolonged duration, the burn boss will consider ceasing firing operations and have all personnel take appropriate actions to secure and hold the burn or adjusting firing tactics to decrease smoke impacts. A fire effects monitor will be onsite monitoring weather, smoke, and fire behavior. There are 3 smoke monitors set up in the valley that will be monitored throughout the burn periods.
